Well, Sleep-Through-The-Night 201 went a little worse than 101. Owen woke up hungry at 3:30 am so I nursed him at 3:45 am and had to squeeze another one in at 6 ish.
For anyone who’s wondering why I consider getting up and nursing him at 5 am a victory for sleeping through the night its because of my work schedule. I have to get him ready to leave the house at 6:45 am with hubby to go to my sister’s house across town (she has graciously agreed to watch him during this short season of me working) and I also leave the house around 6:45 am to go to work. So, I have set his ‘morning nursing’ at 5:30 am, and the rest of his schedule falls into place from there. I plan on eventually dropping this feeding and making his breakfast be at 8:30 am, but all in good time!
For now I’m trying to drop the late night and middle of the night/early early morning feedings. He’s been going without his middle of the night feedings for a while now, giving mommy a good four hour stretch of sleep to recharge in. So its time to drop the late night one and see how he does! I’m a little concerned about my milk supply going down, what with working and only pumping once to cover three missed feedings, but I’m trying to keep it up as best I can. He’s also been a little bit of a sleepy head while he’s nursing, only waking up fully after we’re done and he gets to look around.
Oh, yesterday I introduced the ‘tickle monster’ to him that lives in my fingers. He wasn’t too impressed, though I did get some squirms and a smile or two out of him! Coulda been just gas, I guess.
